  • Every day, 42 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer
  • One in five children diagnosed with cancer  will not survive
  • Before age 20, 1 in 285 kids will have cancer
  • Every day, 7 children in the United States die from cancer
  • Cancer kills more kids than all other diseases combined
  • The incidence of childhood cancer has been steadily increasing over the past few decades
  • Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is directed to childhood cancer research
  • Two-thirds of childhood cancer survivors suffer from long-term effects of their treatments including loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities, and infertility
